Merdeka!

Ah yes..31 August...a memorable day(other than the fateful death of Princess Diana, but that's not the point) 31 August, the day our country Malaysia got it's independence.

This year as we all know is Malaysia's 50th independence anniversary and it has been a long way.For Sarawak and Sabah it's 44 years cause we joined Malaya in 1963.Miri this year has been chosen for the celebration of the National day for the state level. Last night was the countdown at Miri City Fan and today was the parade at the Stadium Terbuka Miri.

We have a achieved a lot of things for these past 50 years, from the freedom and becoming a free country to the construction of the Petronas Twin Towers and many more. We ought to be proud of being Malaysians where we can live in peace and harmony.

The Petronas Twin Towers was the world's tallest building from 1998 to 2004 but it's still the world's tallest twin towers.

The Sepang International Circuit is the venue used for the Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix, A1 Grand Prix as well as the MotoGP Malaysian Grand Prix. It is also used as a venue for many other major motorsport events.

We should also be proud of the vast and beautiful natural heritage. Malaysia is blessed with rich natural tourist destinations.

Niah Caves is located within the district of Miri in Sarawak, Malaysia.

Mount. Kinabalu is a prominent mountain in Southeast Asia. The mountain is the third tallest in Southeast Asia behind Hkakabo Razi of Myanmar (Burma) and Puncak Jaya of New Guinea - Indonesia,[2] and is therefore also the tallest in Malaysia and on the island of Borneo, which Malaysia shares with Indonesia and Brunei.

Large lower pitcher of Nepenthes rajah.

Therefore, we should be proud being Malaysians unlike some people who hate their country cause of the government being corrupted and all.I mean, what kind of government wouldn't be corrupted. It's just that they look good on the outside but you do not know what's happening inside. So be grateful..and yes I'm referring to you Darren.

Touching Heaven,Changing Lives

I'm back..finally Family Camp is over. And how was it? Absolutely 100% FUN. Checked in at around 6.40 on friday and our room was quite a distance from the pavilion.

So anyway, after putting our bags in our room, we went to have dinner. After dinner,we had service. Our camp speaker was Pastor.Dorai. And boy,he's GOOD. He was preaching about Jacob and how he came to "a place" where he had a dream. Nice preaching.

After friday was saturday and the whole day was packed full with activities. Starting with breakfast at the main county club then Part 1 of the camp service and later Part 2 of it.In between we had tea-breaks(of course) and Amanda taught me how to play chords and it seems to be quite easy than i first expected it would be.

Later in the afternoon,we had our lunch and later games for the family. All of the camp members were put into 8 groups. My dad and I were in group H. The games that were included were treasure hunt, umm...something which had to do with a so called "Red Sea", and finding out a missing items in the portrait"The Last Supper".All of the games were supervised by Uncle. Loh.

At night after dinner, we had praise and worship session and afterthat drama of "The Last Supper" from each group. Group A did "The Last Supper the Musical" and i must say it was funny. Group I did "The Last Supper in Modern Time" with Anderson as Jesus. The bread was replaced with a packet of Lay's(mmmmmm....) and the wine as Coke. All the groups did well and everyone laughed. The dramas were all so freaking funny and we were all like making fun of the "The Last Supper"(no offence..but we can't be serious all the time now can we?) We all had a crazy night there.

Today, we checked out at 8.30 and our church had it's Sunday service there.Overall I had fun and i hope the church will have another Family Camp next year. There was one thing though which i didn't manage to do when i had the opportunity O_0(no..it doesn't have to do with you Darren)

Cya..

Family Camp

Ahh...finally, mid-term break..can relax for one week(better than nothing). As you can read the title, it says "Family Camp".Yes,i shall be going to my church's Family Camp and i will be back on Sunday. So,do not panic,i will post what happens when i come back. And yes i know Darren, you don't care.

So anyway,my father and I will be going. My mom isn't going cause she has to work. We shall be checking in at EastWood Valley at around 6-7 p.m today. This is the 2nd time KEC church has held the Family Camp. The last one was great and i hope this time it would be even better.

If you are asking where and what EastWood Valley is? Well,if you're a Mirian, it's the golf and country club you see whenever you use the Miri by-pass road to the airport. It's located on the left if you're heading to the airport. If you still don't know,go check the Miri map or something.

Before i leave you, take a look at the pictures below,

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix

So as you can see the title,Harry Potter yeah..I went to watch the movie last Saturday with my friends and boy was it interesting(in a sarcastic way) The movie was Boring with a capital B.(no offence)

When we went in, the movie had already started and we quickly found our seats watched..and watched..and *snores*..they were new characters in which most i didn't know. They cut out a lot from the book and Darren was devastated cause there wasn't any Quidditch!!!

The fight scenes between Dumbledore and Voldermort was cool with all the effects and all but honestly Dumbledore looked like he was gonna lose and Voldemort looked like he was gonna win. Almost at the end of the battle, Dumbledore was already like kneeling/lying on the ground while Voldemort was standing with a confident look.

One character in the movie really annoyed me though. Dolores Umbridge. Her voice is just annoying.

Umbridge(the one in pink)

Overall,i give HP a 3 outta 5

As Darren said "Umbridge is so gay*hand gestures*"

FREE2BE

Ah..Friday another end of a long week(through the toils and struggles of exams and exam results)So whats so special bout end of class on a Friday besides getting away from Kenny's horniness? well..we have ISCF(that's Inter School Christian Fellowship btw)

And today, Ian was at my ISCF promoting FREE2BE and gave a talk on why we should receive God and all.It was interesting, funny and..Kenaidy-ish.The slide shows shown by Ian were cool and weird at times but it was presented well overall(cut out the weird picture of Ian in it).

Kenaidy and Lau were picked to act during FREE2BE. I was supposed to act but I couldn't cause I have family camp on the same dates as FREE2Be.So Lau,smell me.

What's all this FREE2BE i'm saying you might ask..we'll it's a Christian concert(sorta) where christians come together and rock and also listen to the word of God.
All are invited,Christians and non-Christians.It will be held at the Miri Civic Centre on the 17,18 and 19 of August.Tickets are only at 3 bucks per night and that's RM3 not 5,not 12.90 but RM3. So come if you can, lives will be changed, who knows. God works in many amazing ways.Bring a friend too if you want them to know the Lord.

As I end this post, let me leave you with these pictures,
