Merdeka!

Ah yes..31 August...a memorable day(other than the fateful death of Princess Diana, but that's not the point) 31 August, the day our country Malaysia got it's independence.

This year as we all know is Malaysia's 50th independence anniversary and it has been a long way.For Sarawak and Sabah it's 44 years cause we joined Malaya in 1963.Miri this year has been chosen for the celebration of the National day for the state level. Last night was the countdown at Miri City Fan and today was the parade at the Stadium Terbuka Miri.

We have a achieved a lot of things for these past 50 years, from the freedom and becoming a free country to the construction of the Petronas Twin Towers and many more. We ought to be proud of being Malaysians where we can live in peace and harmony.

The Petronas Twin Towers was the world's tallest building from 1998 to 2004 but it's still the world's tallest twin towers.

The Sepang International Circuit is the venue used for the Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix, A1 Grand Prix as well as the MotoGP Malaysian Grand Prix. It is also used as a venue for many other major motorsport events.

We should also be proud of the vast and beautiful natural heritage. Malaysia is blessed with rich natural tourist destinations.

Niah Caves is located within the district of Miri in Sarawak, Malaysia.

Mount. Kinabalu is a prominent mountain in Southeast Asia. The mountain is the third tallest in Southeast Asia behind Hkakabo Razi of Myanmar (Burma) and Puncak Jaya of New Guinea - Indonesia,[2] and is therefore also the tallest in Malaysia and on the island of Borneo, which Malaysia shares with Indonesia and Brunei.

Therefore, we should be proud being Malaysians unlike some people who hate their country cause of the government being corrupted and all.I mean, what kind of government wouldn't be corrupted. It's just that they look good on the outside but you do not know what's happening inside. So be grateful..and yes I'm referring to you Darren.

Merdeka!
