End of the Spear

Friday again.

Today during ISCF, we watched a movie "End of the Spear." It's a 2006 movie that recounts the story of Operation Auca, in which five American Christian missionaries attempted to evangelize the Huaorani (Waodani) people of the jungle of Ecuador and how the families of the killed missionaries dealt with it.It's a touching story. Most of them in ISCF cried when it came to the scene where the missionaries were speared by the Waodani tribesmen except Darren. He was sleeping during some parts of the movie.Apalar. I, myself felt sad when it came to that scene but they were doing the work of God and they knew the risk.I didn't watch finish the movie cause I had to go back half way.

Steve Saint, the son/narrator, running after his dad before the plane took off.

The movie tells the story from the perspective of Mincayani, one of the tribesmen who killed the missionaries, and Steve Saint, the son of one of the murdered missionaries. The families of the killed missionaries stayed with them and eventually they were converted to Christians.

The scene where the missionaries get speared.

This is a movie about courage, zeal to spread the Gospel, and love in the most unexpected circumstances that changed the world.

Mincayani

Steve Saint with his wife now.

Mincayani now. He is now a preacher and an elder in the Huao church, and has become one of the most outspoken of the Huao Christians.

This is a good movie and I encourage you if you get the chance to watch it.

Till then,

Done.
